12 year old bay gelding, 14.3 hands, QH/Paint, papered with excellent lineage. Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly: Ugly? There is nothing ugly about this guy. He's as pretty a bay as you will ever lay eyes on. Slick and sound and personable. Handsome. Good? He really is a nice ride, steps out and crosses water, bridges, or natural obstacles. He has the nicest lope I've ever ridden, and doesn't ramp up or feel he's got to race the other horses. I've won a buckle off him in Team Penning, and thrown a rope off him in practice. He works off my legs, but a better rider could easily take him to a higher level. Once you have his trust he will follow you anywhere. He's the only horse I've ever been able to walk up to and halter while he's lying down. That's trust. I like everything about him except .... The Bad. He's pretty buddy sour and lacks confidence by himself. We've worked with him and he's better now, but I'm not a trainer and I'm getting too old (pushing 80) to continue working through it.
